Installing a Miata fuel tank in the Exocet
The Exomotive Exocet includes rear NA and NB Miata fuel tank mounts welded into the rear of the chassis. You can use a variety of methods to safely secure the tank to the Exocet chassis by one of the following methods:
Bolts/Nuts/Washers long enough to space the fuel tank above the rear subframe/differential area.
Bolts/Nuts/Washers with a spacer
Vibration Damping Sandwich Mounts with a male threaded stud on each end (M10, M12, or similar)
Depending on what type of fuel filter you use and which emissions equipment you have retained, you will need to mount this to ensure appropriate clearance of the rear bodywork.
For the fuel filler, you can use the donor components and trim them down to your liking, or source a custom solution from Summit Racing/Speedway Motors/Jeg’s/similar.
