Looking to connect with a Nor Cal Exocet owner/builder. Would like to come see your build and do a walk around as I am just starting my build. I am based in the Sacramento metro area. Looking forward to connecting ASAP.

Hey there! I am in the Ukiah area of Nor Cal about two hours form Sac. I finished my build in November of 22. Have you already gotten your kit from Exomotive? Not sure if you ever pass through the Ukiah area, but I do go to Santa Rosa occasionally.

Hi Spencer,

I love the Exocet! Its a blast to drive, people love seeing it on the streets and I've been able to really get fast in it at the Autocross. I built the car in 2022 and overall the build experience was fun and easy, but time consuming of course. Registration was a little bit more bumpy, but having patience and making sure you've addressed all items the CHP/DMV/BAR is looking for will make the process smoother. The biggest item is explaining to the DMV about the SB100 smog exemption process, as most folks down there will ask for a smog cert. You have to get a "sequence" number from the BAR in order to get an in person appointment with them to get the exemption. Just look up CA SB100 and there are a lot of documents covering it.

Keep us posted if you end up pulling the trigger on an Exo if you haven't done so already!

Amazing! So cool to hear about your experience.

Do you find it as rewarding to drive on the street as you do auto-crossing? I know there are great roads around us and my main concern is that the Exocet is better suited for Autotocross than spirited road driving. To be honest I never even seen one in person (let alone driven one) so trying to learn more.

Yes, its still fun to drive on the street, people really snap their necks looking at it driving around town. We live in an area with nice back roads, so if you don't go to crazy with suspension and other mods, the car still drives and rides fairly good. Of course, its an open tube frame car, so getting in and out can be tricky (especially if you get the full roll cage version).
And being caught in bad or inclement weather can be a challenge, but that's just the risk with this type of car.

Ukiah has a Cars and Coffee every month (I think this months is this Sunday), if you make the trek up here, I'd be happy to show you the car and go for a drive!
