Stop/Turn/Tail, Back-up, and License Plate Lights
Sample Stop/Turn/Tail Light Installation
This example uses the popular Spherical Rear Tail Lights available from Exomotive and the Curt 58240 Tail Light Converter.
This is the typical color of wires in the rear tail light connectors:
The Green/Black (G/B) on the left connector is the left turn signal.
The Green/White (G/W) on the right connector is the right turn signal.
The Red/Black (R/B) on the left/right connector is the tail light signal.
The Green (G) on the left/right connector is the stop light signal.
The Black (B) on the left/right connector is the ground.
(If you add separate reverse lights, the Red/Yellow (R/Y) is the reverse signal)
The wires on the tail light pigtail are Ground (White), Bright (Red), Dim (Brown).
From the car harness to the Curt 58240 unit:
-Run the Green/Black wire to the Yellow "Left Turn" wire
-Run the Green wire to the White "Stop" wire
-Run the Green/White wire to the Green "Right Turn" wire
From the Curt unit to the lights:
-Run the Green "Right Stop and Turn" wire to the Red wire on the right light.
-Run the Yellow "Left Stop and Turn" wire to the Red wire on the left light.
From the car harness to the lights:
-Run the Black ground wire to the white wires on the left and right light.
-Run the Red/Black tail light wire to the brown wires on the left and right light.
(Note: If you add an additional license plate light, you can use the Red/Black wire from the car harness to power that as well since the license plate lights will be on anytime the tail lights are on)
